Habilitation Project
Between Ecumenism and the Eschaton:
A Study of Seventh-Day Adventist Interchurch Relations
Description and Goal
The history, theology, and logic of Seventh-day Adventist relationships to other denominations is a field which has not yet been treated in a major study, although this church has a 150-year history and has grown to over 15 million members worldwide. Despite its position at the periphery of ecumenical activity, this vigorous religious movement contributes to ecumenical practice and thinking in its own ways. This project aims at a book-length study on the topic, building on the publications below and a comprehensive collection of materials.
Invitation to Exchange Ideas
I am happy to exchange ideas with researchers engaged in the history, theology, and sociology of interchurch relations, particularly those interested in the free church tradition, and in Adventist studies. Please contact me by e-mail.
