Campus Life
Sports
The Friedensau Adventist University Campus provides ample opportunities to use up the energy you have after sitting in the classroom for long hours bent over your books. There is a tennis court, table tennis facilities and a soccer field with floodlights for sports in the open air. Outdoor chess in the park is popular in summer. There is a well equipped gym to work out. In-door sports include badminton, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and table tennis. The weight lifting and fitness training room in the sanatorium building is also called the "Torture chamber". A cold winter evening can be made enjoyable by a visit to the sauna. All sports activities take place under the auspices of the University Sports Club.
Horses
Students at the FAU have the opportunity to ride the horses that are kept on the Campus. The horses are looked after by students. Riding lessons can be taken from experienced instructors. All this is available in exchange for just a little help in the stalls!
STUZ Café
A popular meeting point for students is the STUZ Café (Studentenzentrum, or Student Centre) where you can play board games or billiards, watch TV or videos or listen to music. Alcohol-free drinks, ice-cream, pizza and other snacks are served in a cosy lounge setting.
Music
Another place to spend your leisure time is the music building that offers students the use of three grand pianos and other musical instruments. Separate practise rooms are available.
Cafeteria
Good wholesome vegetarian food is what the cafeteria at FAU is known for. The cafeteria is also a meeting place for discussions, exchange of interesting information, jokes and laughter.
