Study and Work – Relax and Play

In many ways, Friedensau is not like other universities. It is a place where the word “together” is cherished in living, learning, making music, or talking. Close and life-long friendships are quickly formed.

Excellent learning conditions as well as mental, spiritual, cultural, artistic and athletic opportunities contribute to a balanced and active life in Friedensau. A well-stocked library, internet connections to libraries in the whole world, modern communication means and teaching methods enlarge the educational radius of our students.

Growth in all areas, holistically, means to let all sides of our person­ality grow, to discover needs and work on areas that need to be developed; to strive for a healthy mind and body. In this sense, sports mean more than “un-intellectual” activities accepted for the sake of balance. On-campus possibilities include a wide range of athletic activities – from lawn soccer on a flood-lit field to aerobics. And there is always room for personal initiative. Fields for soccer, volleyball, and tennis, a small gymnasium, and a fitness room invite students to get active – and the sauna stands ready to soothe aching muscles.

Growth also includes developing the quieter, creative sides of your personality. Experiment with clay in the pottery or try the effect of color on silk, for example. A yearly art exhibit allows students to show their works. And the library is not only book storage, but readings and recitations take place here, keeping literature alive, rather than only shelving it.
