German as a Foreign Language
Since 1993 German as a Foreign Language has been offered at Friedensau Adventist University. Students with some knowledge of German (at least A1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) have the possibility to prepare for further studies in a one-year language course.
Students without German language skills can enroll in a beginners’ course. The goal in both courses is the TestDaF exam (Test of German as a Foreign Language, required for university entrance). In the case of “advanced” students, this goal can be reached within one year; others may need 1.5 to 2 years.
In 2003, Friedensau joined the ACA-Program (Adventist Colleges Abroad). This program enables students from the USA to take a year of German, thereby qualifying for a major or minor in German. (Please check with your home university for requirements.)
