From Friday July 7, 2017 until Sunday, July 9, 2017 the President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (GC), Ted Wilson, together with a delegation of members from the GC (USA) as well as from the EUD (Inter-European Division), Berne (Switzerland), attended Friedensau Adventist University. The guests were on a “Reformation tour” visiting important places of the life and work of Martin Luther in Eisenach (Wartburg where Luther translated the New Testament), Erfurt (university town where Luther studied), and Wittenberg (castle church, where Luther is buried and town church, where he used to preach every Sunday). The tour was guided by church historian Dr. Johannes Hartlapp from Friedensau Adventist University, an expert of Reformation history.
On Saturday, July 8, 2017, Ted Wilson preached in the historic Friedensau Chapel. The service was broadcasted live on the Hope Channel. In the afternoon Ted Wilson and Andrew McChesney gave a report on the situation and the progress of the World Church; subsequently, various questions of general interest were answered. On Saturday evening, an informal discussion took place with the German Adventist church leaders. The tour was continued on Sunday.
