Recognizing and overcoming racism

3:30 p.m.

Hanna Arhin-Sam with Speaker Simret Mahari

First, our guest Simret Mahary will give a keynote speech to introduce the history and present of racism. On the one hand, he will explain the effects racism has on those affected by it. On the other hand, it will be about how people who are not affected by racism can recognize and change their own (often unconscious) racist ways of thinking and acting in order to contribute to the reduction of discrimination.

As a mandatory service event for all university employees, the lecture and exchange will take place during core working hours: 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
