The StudentCouncil (StuRa)
Elections
The Student Council (StuRa) is elected once a year by the students. Its term of office is one year.
The StuRa consists of
- the student spokesperson and their deputy
- student representatives from the individual faculties
- one representative each for spiritual life, international students and culture & events
All members carry out their work on a voluntary and dedicated basis alongside their studies.
Duties
- Representing students' concerns and problems to the university management
For this purpose, students are involved in various university committees with voting rights (e.g. in the Department of Theology, Department of Social Sciences, WiKo, Senate, in the Nutrition Commission) - Link between the university and students
- Organising certain events on campus (weekend of cultures, forest run for a good cause, Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations, ‘students - staff’ football match, Thanks-Giving party, ‘Friedensau - Bogenhofen’ student exchange, etc.)
- Suggest solutions to problems, collect ideas and submit applications to improve studies, life together and spiritual life in Friedensau
- Contact person for students with personal problems
- Convene a student assembly at least once a year to decide on motions from the student body and to discuss other issues with students
- Supervision of participants in the taster study programme
- Campus tours at the beginning of the academic year
- Active support of the STuZ (Student Centre)
- Providing students with a schedule for the first two weeks of the semester and the entire academic year
In order to fulfil its tasks, the Student Council meets regularly for discussion.
Regulations
The Student Council has its own regulations.
The preamble states:
‘The representatives of the student body represent the political, social, cultural and religious interests of the students of Friedensau Adventist University in an independent and non-partisan manner. They want to contribute constructively to the development of the university in the spirit of peace. When filling the positions to be awarded, equal distribution between the individual interest groups must be ensured.’
