The institution considers itself the scientific central archives of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Europe. Since 1997, the institution is located at Friedensau Adventist University. The Archives is run and sponsored by the Inter-European Division (EUD). The Archives task is to collect, arrange, and make accessible all available and significant written sources on Adventist history in Europe and beyond. Thanks to years of intensive research in Germany and abroad, the Archives holds approximately 3,500 archived files, comprising original documents, photocopies of documents as well as film and photographic materials. The collection primarily documents the history and mission of the Adventist Church in Central, South-East and Eastern Europe, in the Middle East, in North, Central, and East Africa as well as in some countries of the Far East. Donations and estates of all kinds containing documents in the form of letters, diaries, chronicles, and photographs will be gratefully accepted. As a denominational archive, the institution aims to preserve its own historical and theological heritage and thereby, contributing to the strengthening the Adventist identity and presence in Europe. As a “research workshop” and meeting point, the archives is also seeking ways of interdenominational dialogue to reduce religious prejudices and misunderstandings and to stimulate mutual understanding.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_column_text]

Institute Director

[/vc_column_text][vc_customButton ct_staff="Bernd Müller, Ph.D. #30948" ct_staffcard="große Karte"][vc_column_text]

Historical Archives Employee

[/vc_column_text][vc_customButton ct_staff="Daniel Heinz #2597" ct_staffcard="große Karte"][vc_customButton ct_staff="Maria Zeltz #4978" ct_staffcard="große Karte"][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] European Archives of Seventh-day Adventist History The European Archives of Seventh-day Adventist History was founded 1980 at Theological Seminary Marienhöhe in Darmstadt, Germany.
