{"id":17405,"date":"2020-09-29T08:16:27","date_gmt":"2020-09-29T06:16:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thh-friedensau.de\/?p=17405"},"modified":"2020-09-29T08:16:27","modified_gmt":"2020-09-29T06:16:27","slug":"the-thhf-mourns-christa-irmer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thh-friedensau.de\/en\/the-thhf-mourns-christa-irmer\/","title":{"rendered":"The ThHF mourns Christa Irmer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=\"2\/3\"][vc_column_text]\"Now that we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ\" (Romans 5:1).<\/p>\n<p>The Friedensau Theological College mourns Christa Irmer (n\u00e9e Schade)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*November 2, 1929 \u2020 September 16, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Christa Irmer died on September 16 at the age of 90 after suffering from cancer in a hospice in Chemnitz.<\/p>\n<p>Christa Irmer, n\u00e9e Schade, was born in Sprottau (Silesia) on November 2, 1929, from where she fled to Thuringia in 1945. After her training as a cook, she first attended a school for domestic science and then trained as an infant nurse. Due to a skin disease, she had to give up work in the hospital, worked in a children's home in Bad K\u00f6sen and finally \u2013 as a Christian in the GDR \u2013 became the director of a large nursery with apprentice training in S\u00f6mmerda.<\/p>\n<p>In the summer of 1968 she took over the management of the Erholungsheim \u2013 today's guest house \u2013 in Friedensau for eleven years as the last \"Friedensauer Schwester\". She carried out her demanding service with great dedication and love for detail.<\/p>\n<p>After her marriage to Richard Irmer, she moved with him to Mittweida in 1979, where she volunteered in diaconal church work as long as her health allowed.<\/p>\n<p>With the song \"Wenn Friede mit Gott meine Seele durchdringt\" (ghs 365) she summed up her 90 years of life the day before her death. We are grateful for her work and hope to see her again on the day of resurrection.
