The \"Forest Run for a Good Cause\" 2022 was successfully concluded on March, 1, 2023 with a donation of 3,000 euros. The recipient institutions, the DRK Women's House in Burg and the Children's and Youth House in L\u00fcttgenziatz, each received a sum of 1,500 euros to support the children, young people and women in their institutions. The women's shelter plans to buy bicycles for school children and scooters for younger children and to use the remaining money for day trips as well as for gifts for anniversaries, Christmas and Easter, said Susann Schuster, director of the women's shelter in Burg. The social workers Eireen Bu\u00dfe and Eva Ladwig from the L\u00fcttgenziatz Children's and Youth Home, who accepted the donation cheque with a group of children and youths, will take the suggestions of the residential areas into account when deciding on the use of the donation; possibly work will continue on the renovation of the popular basketball court.
\nDistrict Administrator Dr. Steffen Burchhardt, patron of the \"Forest Run for a Good Cause\", as well as Andy Marcius, board member of the supporting organisation of the DRK Women's House, found very appreciative words for the initiative of the students of the Friedensau Adventist University to support a social institution in the region financially at the same time with a sporting action \u2013 be it jogging, sprinting or leisurely running, depending on personal possibilities.
\nThe lead organiser of the Waldlauf 2022, Kathrin Taraba, thanked \"all supporters, first and foremost our main sponsor, the Stadtwerke Burg, the Friedensau Adventist University and all runners and individual donors. We are especially happy about the regular support of the District Administrator, Dr Steffen Burchhardt, who has never missed a Waldlauf so far!\" The amount of 3,000 euros was reached through an increase in the donation by the Friedensau Adventist University.
\nThe next Waldlauf will take place on April, 16, 2023. The organisers say: \"The students have chosen the Zabakuck Zoo as the project to support, which provides work for people with disabilities and runs the zoo with them. Runners, both big and small, and sponsors can already register on the university website http:\/\/www.thh-friedensau.de\/waldlauf. We look forward to every support and participation.\"<\/p>\n
