FFF expresses gratitude for long-standing support
19. Dec. 2025
The Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) yearbook was published at the beginning of December and has already reached most of its recipients: the students of the two schools of Theology and Social Sciences. Now, one copy will be travelling a little further: to Sweden, to Prof. Herbert Blomstedt, a long-time supporter of the university and founder of the Waltraud and Herbert Blomstedt Prize. The prize, donated by him and his wife, is awarded to students of theology who are particularly committed to music at the university and who are to be supported as young talent.
On 9 December 2025, the head of the marketing department, Dr. Inna Mayer, presented a copy of the yearbook to Heike Fischer, the first chairperson of the Friends of Friedensau International Association (FFF). Like all other members of the association, Prof. Blomstedt receives regular updates on life on the university campus, its plans and prospects. The association maintains close contact with him. In the summer of 2025, Prof. Rolf Pöhler took the opportunity to visit Prof. Blomstedt in Sweden and present him with a copy of ‘125 Years of Friedensau. A Chronicle’. At 98 years of age, the world-famous conductor not only continues to conduct all the leading orchestras worldwide, but also collects rare books, bibliophile first editions, sheet music and recordings. Prof. Blomstedt is, among other things, a recipient of the ‘Grand Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany’. The Förderverein Freundeskreis Friedensau International e. V. is a non-profit association that supports students at Friedensau Adventist University. It was founded in 1990 by 23 people who wanted to help maintain and expand the then still young university. Among them are active and former students, teachers, and employees of the university, as well as numerous friends of Friedensau from Germany and around the world.
The goal of the FFF's work is to make it possible for anyone who has the qualifications to study in Friedensau. In addition, we want to promote the university itself—its mission and its further development. We promote Friedensau and encourage people to support the university.
