06. Oct. 2025
On Monday, 6 October 2025, the 2025/26 academic year was officially opened at Friedensau Adventist University. With a short address in the chapel of the Otto Lüpke House, Rector Prof. Dr. phil. Roland Fischer welcomed the new students on behalf of the university management. In a small ceremony, he stated programmatically: ‘Study and education serve two purposes: the development of one's own personality and preparation for a place in society in professional and voluntary work.’
This year, 50 new students enrolled in the study programmes. Twelve students are studying theology – nine of whom are first-year students starting their bachelor's degree in theology; three are continuing their studies in various master's programmes in theology. 38 students are starting their studies in the School of Social Sciences. The largest group is enrolled in English-language programmes (14 B.A. International Social Work; 20 M.A. Development Studies), while four students are enrolled in the M.A. Counseling study programme in German. In addition to Germany, the new students come from 17 different countries, including Ethiopia, Burundi, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Congo, Liberia, Myanmar, Nigeria, Norway, Austria, Rwanda, Russia, Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Hungary. We warmly welcome all new students and wish them every success in their studies.
