Visit by representatives from Babcock University

09. Dec. 2025

From 25 November to 3 December 2025, a group of students and lecturers from Babcock University (Nigeria) visited Friedensau at the invitation of the Friedensau Adventist University. This visit serves to strengthen the cooperation agreement between the two universities. During their stay, the students, who study International Relations in Nigeria, attended several lectures in the Master's program in Development Studies. They learned about study-related content from a different perspective and also how a study program at a German university is structured. A highlight was a public lecture by Oluwatosin Blessing Ayanlowo entitled "Energy Diplomacy: The Transformation of Global Geopolitics". In addition to acquiring knowledge, they had the opportunity to participate in several student activities, including a sports evening with students from Friedensau, an international church service with Dr. Charles Akpuh (Babcock University) and the subsequent potluck – a communal lunch where everyone contributes something and a warm atmosphere of togetherness is cultivated.

The group also went on several excursions, including to the Clausewitz Memorial in Burg, to the state capital Magdeburg, to Potsdam and to Berlin, where they visited the Futurium, the Bundestag, the Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Memorial. The visit strengthened the partnership between Friedensau Adventist University and Babcock University. Both universities look forward to further exchanges and close cooperation in the coming years.
