Because Friedensau is worth it

A gift for the anniversary with your help and support

This year, we have set ourselves the firm goal of at least breaking ground on the new, intergenerational canteen for Friedensau's 125th anniversary. Over the past few weeks, we have been working with AWW Retirement Home Friedensau to get the specialist planning for air /exhaust air and building services, the profitability planning and the search for funding underway. A team of consultants developed a business plan and calculated the operating costs. In addition, the first potential funding providers were contacted and, above all, the project was successfully discussed with the social agency responsible for approving investments in retirement homes.

Problems are meant to be solved

In addition to the kitchen and dining area, the new canteen building will also house three residential units for staff or students. Every construction project has its own particular challenges. In the case of this building, they primarily lie in groundwater management and the supply of heat and electricity - both of which are to be fully integrated into the new "Friedensau goes green" district concept. Planning is being given high priority in order to put Friedensau on a solid footing for the future.

AWW day care services are moving into the former archive

Part of the task of putting Friedensau on a sound economic footing is the expansion of services that match our profile and are cost-effective. That is why we are delighted to open a day care facility in the Wilhelm-Lesowsky-Haus (formerly the archive building and museum) with the AWW in the coming months. This will enable us to generate rental income from the building, which previously housed the Archaeological Institute's exhibition and our administrative archive, and provide an attractive offer for senior citizens in the area. The exhibition with finds from our excavation field in Jordan are already well packed and will be displayed again in a new and curated form when the canteen has moved into its new building.

Thank you for all your intercession, your support, every euro

We are happy to receive financial support for these measures - and since they will take many more months of time, work and finances, even small regular donations to the Friedensau University Foundation are helpful. You have our sincerest gratitude.
