Master’s Degree Program in Counseling – in English Beginning in 2027

27. Jul. 2026

The Master’s degree program in Counseling will once again begin in the winter semester of 2026/27. Offered on a part-time basis, the program provides the theoretical foundations and practical competencies needed to professionally support individuals through crises and processes of change. Interdisciplinary in nature, it draws on insights from psychology, medicine, communication studies, business studies, sociology, social work, and theology.

A German-language cohort will begin in the 2026/27 academic year, followed by an English-language cohort in the winter semester of 2027/28. In 2028/29, the program will again be offered in German.

The Master’s program is designed for individuals serving in leadership and management roles in a variety of social-service, healthcare-related, church-affiliated, and faith-based institutions and organizations. Pastors who hold a bachelor’s degree will find in this program an opportunity to earn a master’s qualification. The program is also well suited for professionals working in private-sector organizations.

In addition, prospective students are invited to attend an online information session about the program and its areas of focus on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Program Director Prof. Dr. phil. Dr. rer. medic. Silvia Hedenigg will answer questions from interested participants.
