Prof. Bendix Publishes Comic Book Project

Prof. Daniel Bendix, professor of Development Studies in the Department of Christian Social Work at Friedensau Theological University, served as co-editor and author of two stories in »Episodes of a Colonial Present« — told through comics. The book will be published by Edition Assemblage in the fourth quarter of 2026.

As Prof. Bendix puts it, it is “a collective comic project about colonial continuities in everyday life and the strengths of decolonizing struggles.” For this comic, a team of seven writers and seven artists from Mexico, Namibia, China, Canada, India, Germany, and the Basque Country “to explore the diverse manifestations of everyday contemporary coloniality in the form of comic stories.” Read more: https://www.edition-assemblage.de/buecher/episoden-einer-kolonialen-gegenwart/
