Prof. Bochmann Guest Lectures at Newbold College
07. Oct. 2026
From 27 September to 2 October 2026, Prof. Andreas Bochmann, Ph.D., taught as a guest lecturer at Newbold College, our sister Adventist institution in England, on the subjects of pastoral psychology and pastoral care. He had previously taught regularly at Newbold College from 2008 to 2014 under a cooperation agreement between Newbold College and Friedensau Adventist University. He has a particularly close connection with the institution: it is his alma mater.
“It was very moving for me to teach in the same classroom, now equipped with state-of-the-art technology for hybrid teaching, where 48 years ago I studied Greek intensively alongside many international students,” says Andreas Bochmann, describing his immediate impressions.
Prof. Bochmann studied theology at Newbold College and Andrews University, studied counseling at Liberty University, and earned his doctorate in pastoral counseling at Loyola College in Maryland. As Professor of Counseling and Pastoral Care, he headed the M.A. program in Counseling in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Friedensau Adventist University for many years and now continues to teach in the same department.
Having completed further professional training as a supervisor, he also works part-time as a counselor and supervisor in accordance with the standards of the German Society for Supervision and Coaching (DGSv). In this work, he can draw on a wealth of additional professional experience, including his work as a youth and congregational pastor, hospital chaplain, and head of the AWW counseling centers for the Berlin region.
