Winter semester 2024/25 begins
08. Oct. 2024
On 7 October 2024, the academic year 2024/25 was ceremoniously opened at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU). In the morning, the Rector of Friedensau Adventist University, Prof. Dr. phil. Roland Fischer, welcomed the new students in the chapel. He focussed his speech on the goals and values of the university. ‘Friedensau Adventist University of Theology stands for holistic education. As an Adventist university, we promote spiritual life and focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ.’
This was followed by the regular enrolment process. Yesterday's activities were more focussed on getting to know each other. In the evening, a welcome dinner was held in the Kulturscheune for the new students, who had the opportunity to meet the programme directors, some lecturers and university staff in an informal setting.
40 students began their studies at the FAU in the winter semester 2024/25 on the B.A. study course in Theology and the Master's study courses in Counselling (Marriage, Family and Life Counselling), Development Studies, Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Master of Theological Studies – the latter three of which are taught in English. The new students come from 15 different countries: Ethiopia, Burundi, Germany, Ghana, Guatemala, Kenya, Congo, Croatia, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, Zambia and Switzerland. The largest group is made up of the new students from Myanmar. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of them!
Friedensau, which was founded in 1899, will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2024.
