Alumni spotlight: Meet Bhim Prasad

When Bhim Prasad first arrived in Friedensau in October 2021, he was not just starting a degree, he was stepping into what he now calls “much more than a university.” As someone who values spirituality, he found the campus's quiet, forested setting to be exactly the environment he needed to learn, reflect, and grow.

His daily ritual says it all: a walk through the forest surrounding Friedensau. “Those quiet walks became a kind of personal space for me to clear my mind, release stress, reflect on my studies and life, and return with renewed energy,” he says. It is a habit he credits, alongside the campus's natural and spiritual atmosphere, with making his three years there genuinely profound.

“The combination of learning, solitude, nature and spirituality made my experience there deeply meaningful.”

That meaning did not come without discipline. Bhim kept a daily to-do list, reviewed every evening to set his priorities for the next day, a simple habit, he says, that kept him on top of every assignment, reading, and deadline, and helped him complete his degree in three years. Alongside his coursework, he squeezed in a two-month internship at INHURED International back home in Nepal, made possible through financial support from STUBE Halle, whose seminars he also found both academically and personally enriching.

Beyond the classroom, Bhim also picked up two years of hands-on experience in the Marketing Department and one year in IT and this taught him practical skills he still carries with him. Looking back, he remains deeply grateful to Friedensau and everyone who helped make the journey happen.

After graduating in October 2024, Bhim returned to Nepal to join the National Election Observation Committee (NEOC) as a Senior Program Officer cum Researcher. And Life handed him another milestone in August 2026, when he and his wife, Kamala, welcomed a new baby, adding a joyful new chapter to their lives.

Bhim's Advice to Current Students

Make the most of your time: learn beyond the classroom, stay disciplined, and remain curious.

Build meaningful relationships: growth is not just academic, let it be personal and spiritual too.

Notice the small opportunities: a seminar, a conversation with a professor, a friendship, or even a forest walk can leave a lasting impact.

Believe in yourself: your time at Friedensau can become a strong foundation for your future if you embrace it wholeheartedly.
