Daniel Bendix appointed professor

On June 19, 2019, Daniel Bendix, Professor of Global Development at the School of Social Sciences of Friedensau Adventist University (FAU), received his certificate of appointment as professor. Rector Prof. Roland Fischer congratulated him very warmly.
Prof. Daniel Bendix has been working at FAU since March 2019; before that, he worked as a researcher and professor at the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Manchester as well as at the universities of Jena and Kassel. His field of research and teaching is Global Development. In particular, he dealt with the effects of colonial power relations on German development policy in Germany and abroad. In 2018, his findings were published in the book "Global Development and Colonial Power – German Development Policy at Home and Abroad" in the series "Kilombo: International Relations and Colonial Questions" by Rowman & Littlefield International, London. He is currently doing research on the possibilities of transnational resistance to landgrabbing, with a focus on Mali.
