Professor of Music Therapy wanted!

Friedensau Adventist University (Theologische Hochschule Friedensau) is an internationally oriented, state-recognized university of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a School of Social Sciences and a School of Theology. The School of Social Sciences is seeking to fill the following position as soon as possible:

Professorship for Music Therapy or

Lectureship for Music Therapy with Tenure Track

The future holder of the post will be in charge of the part-time Master's degree program in Music Therapy and will play a key role in its teaching. The teaching includes the areas of theory and practice of music therapy, and its methods and fields.

In addition to teaching and research, the area of responsibility includes active participation in the profile development and internationalization of the university as well as in academic self-administration. For the winter semester 2027, the further development of the program into an English-language program with an intercultural focus is planned. This offers scope for a corresponding teaching and research profile for the head of degree program and at the same time requires an active interest in shaping the program.

We expect a person with teaching experience in the field of music therapy and a relevant research interest. Very good knowledge of English and German Language is required. Friedensau University is a campus university with a committed, collegial academic team and a personal atmosphere. Individual guidance and support for students are of central importance to us. We offer creative freedom for research topics and teaching focuses. Membership in a Christian church is desired.

The recruitment requirements for the permanent professorship are set out in Section 35 (2) of the HSG LSA (university degree, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate, habilitation or equivalent achievements). For the tenure track lecturer position, the requirements according to § 40 HSG LSA apply (university degree, pedagogical aptitude, doctorate). The tenure position is limited to two periods of three years and leads to appointment to a professorship upon successful evaluation of academic performance.

Remuneration is in accordance with the university's financial guidelines.
