Juliane Schmidt, pastor and head of the youth department of the Adventist Youth of the Middle Rhine (Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland) and a graduate of the FAU, is expected to be the guest speaker. Her topic is “Man, God! How strange it is that God writes history with people. No parade of heroes. God on the margins.” The events during the Week of Spiritual Emphasis are open to the public. Admission is free.
From Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27, 2026, Juliane Schmidt will explore a topic each evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Barn Friedensau (in German Language with translation):

March 24, 2026 | “Jaël – The Sledgehammer Approach. Holy Inconvenience”
March 25, 2026 | “Ahitofel – How to Become an Enemy. When Hurt Clings to Something Else”
March 26, 2026 | “Ehud – Sometimes the Other Side Is the Way. God Reaches Out with His Unfamiliar Hand”
March 27, 2026 | “Mary and Martha – Between ‘Too Late’ and ‘Exactly God’s Time’”
During the “Gathering Around the Word” on Wednesday morning at 9:50 a.m. in the chapel, Juliane Schmidt will share a devotional message titled “Rhode – Overflowing with Joy. When a miracle comes knocking – and we can hardly believe it.”
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10 a.m., the Week of Spiritual Emphasis will conclude with a worship service in the chapel. The sermon topic is: “Jonathan – The King’s Friend.” The closing worship service on Sabbath will be streamed and can be accessed via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/live/AMT40f3VFi4?si=H2qPxYq69gIpUz-q
As a pastor and youth director for Adventist Youth, Juliane Schmidt accompanies the younger generation. She is committed to making God’s family tangible and experiential. Her heart beats for the Bible, vocation, and God’s story with each of us. She stays the course when questions become uncomfortable, because that’s often exactly where discipleship becomes real. She loves faith that doesn’t sound polished but is sustaining. She believes: Jesus still changes lives today. And He has more plans for us than we can imagine.
