Friedensau Adventist University invited to the ceremonial graduation on 14th October 2018 into the chapel. 29 graduates from both theology and social science faculties received their diploma. The official speech was given by Stephan G. Brass (Munich), pastor and communication representative of SDA in Germany. In his motivational speech he recited Martin Luther, but pretty modern and spoke to every graduate: “Don’t be discouraged. If you know who you are, when you know you opinion and if you are firm in that, no one can change you. You can change!“ After the formal hand over of the diplomas, three students received a special distinction for their outstanding volunteer engagement.
The prize for German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), endowed with 1000 €, went to Stephen Frimpong Amponsah from Ghana, studying M.A. International Social Sciences. The promotional award of Sparkasse Jerichower Land for special engagement in faculty of Social Science, endowed with 500 €, was presented by Sieglinde Wilke (Sparkasse Jerichower Land) and went to Deborah Esposito, who led the “Friedensau International Choir”, because of her outstanding engagement. The third award of Waltraud-und-Herbert-Blomstedt-Prize for Theology went to Filip Kapusta, M.A. Theology, which was also endowed with 500 € by the Friedensauer booster club “Förderverein Freundeskreis Friedensau International e.V.” and was presented by the dean of Theology Stefan Höschele, Ph.D. Best wishes go out to every award winner and every graduate!
