Soccer, music from all over the world and some tongue twisters

Every year in May, the students and their guests in Friedensau celebrate the Week of Cultures. Several activities were hosted from 7 to 14 May 2023. The first activity was a soccer tournament on 7 May 2023 on the soccer field "An der Ihle". Four teams competed against each other. There were interesting ball exchanges, many of them a one-on-one duel, a skilled high ball from the halfway line by Constantin Schulze - and in the end victory with 3:2 goals for the ThHF team. The referee, Rector Roland Fischer, was confident; the goalkeeper of the winning team, André Müller, was ambitious; and the team captain, Kwaku Arhin-Sam, was committed.

Meeting under the word | Concert | Fischers Fritze

But it is not only sports that can be reported: On Wednesday, Chancellor Tobias Koch held a Meeting under the word "Why do you call me good?!" in the chapel; in the evening there was a concert "Around the world in 80 minutes". Young student musicians presented their skills: First and foremost, theology student Andrei Sisu captured the hearts of the audience by playing "The Lonely Sheperd" on his violin - magnificent!
All visitors were challenged to participate in the tongue twister game. The performance went from "Fischers Fritze ..." to "Rinderkennzeichnungsfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz". Not quite easy ...

The next "Week of Cultures" is planned for 20 to 26 May 2024

The programme continued on Thursday with "fun and games" and Hanna Arhin-Sam in the sports hall as well as the traditional Shabbat Shalom on Friday evening; the next day with a German-English service and the sermon by Samuel Ndikumana. The event ended on Sunday in the Kulturscheune with a "Festival of Cultures" featuring a variety of performances and an international buffet. The next "Week of Cultures" is planned for 20 to 26 May 2024. It will then mark the anniversary of "125 years of Friedensau" (Andrea Cramer).
