Covid-19 meets Friedensau
16. Oct. 2020
A group of 30 international students was in Göttingen for five days from October 5, 2020 for study purposes in order to conduct a social analysis in the so-called Iduna Center as part of their Master's program. After the group returned, one student showed Covid-19 symptoms after a few days. An immediately initiated Covid-19 test was positive. All participating students and teachers of the excursion are in home quarantine as contact persons and are supervised there in close cooperation with the public health department. Ten further tests were arranged. Study events in the "International Social Sciences" program now take place via Zoom or Moodle.
Previously, a student had a positive test result on his return from the Czech Republic, but without showing symptoms. Since then he and his family have also been in domestic quarantine.
The management of the university continues to rely on the consistent adherence to all hygiene standards in order to prevent the further spread of the Covid-19 virus.
