International Symposium began

On Monday, April 26, 2021, the 4th International Symposium of the Institute for Adventist Studies began - as an online event. It will be held under the theme "The Kingdom of God is at hand! - Adventist interpretations of biblical apocalyptic". About 250 participants have registered from all parts of the world and will follow the text contributions. The conference language is English. A translation into German will be offered.
On this first day the following spoke: Prof. Rolf Pöhler on "Future, Past and Present - Adventist Apocalyptic in the Mirror of the Times", Dr. Kerstin Maiwald "Implications of Mesopotamian Apocalyptic for Adventist Eschatology", Jan Sigvartsen (Ph. D.) "The Messianic Kingdom in the Old and New Testaments and in Adventist Eschatology," Prof. Bernhard Oestreich "Ritual and Parousia," and Igor Lorencin (Ph.D.) "Second Coming and the Lord's Supper." The evening concluded with a panel discussion.
