Lecture: Is our religious freedom at risk?
26. Oct. 2021
On Sunday, October 24, 2021, the library of Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) invited to the lecture "Corona - a threat to religious freedom?". The speaker was Dr. Harald Mueller, director of the Institute for Religious Freedom at the FAU.
In his lecture, Dr. Mueller dealt with "Corona" and the handling of this topic in our society. Considered precisely, this is a difficult question, since the pandemic and the attempts to overcome it pose great challenges to our society. Even church life, which is characterized by encounters, has to suffer severe restrictions. How far may the state go with its measures? How much are we within the church able to deal with diverging views on the right behavior (vaccinations, etc.)?
Here you can listen to the lecture from 27 October 2021: on the YouTube channel of the Friedensau Adventist University.
The Institute for Religious Freedom is an affiliated institute of the German Association for Religious Freedom e.V. at Friedensau Adventist University. Its objective is to deal scientifically with national and international questions of religious freedom and the relationship between church and state from a legal, theological and historical perspective. The Institute awards and accompanies research contracts and issues expert opinions on current issues of freedom of religion and conscience, taking into account aspects of religious law and/or church-state law.
