Prof. Oestreich participated in the Congress of Biblical Literature

Prof. Bernhard Oestreich attended the International Congress of the "Society of Biblical Literature" in Salzburg from July, 17 to 22, 2022. Every year hundreds of biblical scholars from all over the world meet, each time in a different university city, to present and discuss the latest research. For the first time at such an international meeting, a section on "Performance Criticism of the Bible" was established. Under the leadership of Prof. Oestreich, this working group began its work. Performance criticism is biblical interpretation from the point of view that the biblical texts were once recited in public. In 2023, the congress is to take place in Pretoria.
