The ThHF mourns the death of Dr. Gerhard Menn
14. Dec. 2020
"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom" (Psalm 90:12).
Friedensau Adventist University mourns the passing of Dr. Gerhard Menn, who died in Berlin on December 13, 2020, at the age of 55. After a severe lung disease, he had recently contracted the Corona virus. After a stay in intensive care, he passed away on Sunday afternoon in the presence of his family.
Gerhard Menn was active for a long time as a pastor in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, most recently for several years as a hospital chaplain in the hospital Berlin-Waldfriede. For many years he has been a lecturer in the field of poimenics (pastoral care) at the ThHF. We are losing an extremely competent and committed colleague who lived what he taught. The human person was at the center of his pastoral ministry, and concern for spiritual well-being also determined his teaching. His specialty was the accompaniment of the grieving and dying, so that Psalm 90:12 had become his motto.
With great gratitude for his service to ThHF, we bid farewell to a colleague, brother and friend. We look forward to seeing him again in the resurrection and wish his family and all the bereaved comfort and hope.
