Friedensau lecturer publishes in international anthology

10. Aug. 2021

Jan A. Sigvartsen (Ph.D.), lecturer in Old Testament at Friedensau Adventist University, recently published two scholarly texts: (1) "Afterlife and Resurrection Beliefs in the Apocrypha and Apocalyptic Literature" and (2) "Afterlife and Resurrection Beliefs in the Pseudepigrapha." Both were published in 2020, now inserted into an eleven-volume series ("Jewish and Christian Texts") and thus reissued in July 2021.

"Jewish-and-Christian-Texts" comprises a series of monographs on biblical studies published by Bloomsbury under the T&T Clark label. For this purpose, monographs have been selected for a specialized series because of their importance in describing formative contexts of Judaism and Christianity and in illuminating conceptions of the ancient world. In his texts, Jan Sigvartsen describes the ideas of resurrection and afterlife in the Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha.

In addition to Jan A. Sigvartsen, scholars from renowned international universities, including Princeton, Duke, Fuller, Notre Dame, Wheaton, and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, are contributing to the eleven-volume anthology.
