As a private university sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, FAU receives no government funding; it finances itself by the tuition fees and, to a significantly greater degree, by the grants of the school authorities. The tuition fees vary – depending on the study programme – between € 2,100 (Bachelor programmes) and € 2,340 (Master programmes) per semester. The registration fee is € 380 per semester.

The students at Friedensau Adventist can take up a student job to earn up to € 450 per month. During the semester the students should not work more than 20 hours per week.
Students from foreign countries can apply for DAAD scholarships and can receive up to € 250 monthly (at a maximum of nine months per year)
